Announcing More Amazing Workshops at Washington State Nonprofit Conference

We are pleased to announce our two curated tracks at the Washington State Nonprofit Conference.  This year, we’ll have a track on Strengthening Democracy and a series of Powerful Conversations in addition to all the other amazing offerings you have already heard about.

A strong democracy depends on civic engagement and public service.  With participation in civic activities on the decline, nonprofits have a special role to play in developing leaders and encouraging all community members to lift their voices.  This year, we have a series of workshops highlighting our role in organizing our communities, giving them a voice in government and telling their stories.   Latino Community Fund leaders will share lessons learned organizing Latinx communities in South King County and Central Washington and implications for centering communities most impacted as we work to ensure a complete census count.  Advocates from Youth Development Executives of King County and Washington Nonprofits will help you prepare your organization for powerful public policy advocacy.  A dynamic group of community-based journalists will talk about how they work to tell the stories that the mainstream press isn’t covering.  And, every attendee will leave the conference with a clear sense of how your organization can contribute to a successful Census 2020.

Conference-goers will also have the opportunity to listen in on powerful conversations on issues that matter to nonprofits and our communities right now.  We’ll put philanthropists and nonprofit leaders together to talk about how we can shift our thinking to improve their relationship and make it more equitable.  Leaders from multiple generations will discuss how the nonprofit sector has evolved over the past 25 years and where we are headed next.  Rural leaders will talk about the creative and inventive strategies rural nonprofits implement in order to survive and thrive where resources can be scant and the volunteer and talent pool is small.

The 2019 Washington State Nonprofit Conference really is the place to be.  Don’t miss your chance at early bird pricing today or tomorrow.
