Strategic planning offers a critical pathway for nonprofits to better achieve their mission. There are so many benefits, including increased focus, support, accountability and ability to measure impact. Yet the vast majority of small nonprofits who do not have plans miss this opportunity to think deeply about their work and expand their capacity to deliver more powerfully on their mission. In 2017, Washington Nonprofits– supported by the Satterberg Foundation– launched this Strategic Planning in Nonprofits (SPiN) initiative designed to significantly increase the number of nonprofits guided by strategic plans.

SPiN Toolkit

During the first phase of SPiN, Washington Nonprofits developed the Strategic Planning in Nonprofits toolkit, a set of videos with a supporting kit and key documents. These resources were designed for DIY Planning, and they serve as the supporting materials for a day-long planning workshop offered in communities across Washington and online.

SPiN Request for Support

SPiN is designed around DIY planning, yet there may come a time when you need help figuring out a challenge. Washington Nonprofits had made help available. Read more here.
