2021 Volunteer Managers Cohort

This is the landing page for the 2021 Volunteer Managers Cohort. Thanks to funding from Serve Washington, Washington Nonprofits will continue serving volunteer managers with three convenings of volunteer managers in 2021 and additional support between events.

This cohort is for volunteer program managers or for people who supervise volunteers. Please do not join the conversation unless you are currently serving in this role. Our hope is to create a space for volunteer managers to exchange advice and share resources and experiences.

Schedule of events:

3 Cheers for Volunteers!

Thursday, January 28, 2021
12:00PM – 1:30PM
Free virtual workshop via Washington Nonprofits

Volunteers are the life-blood of nonprofit organizations and without them, most nonprofits would not even exist! Your nonprofit may only be working in one small corner of one small town, but to the people you serve and those that volunteer with you to serve, your work is life-changing and transformational! In order to attract and motivate volunteers, you’ll need to speak directly to their hearts and minds – and the best way to do that is with a great story!

In this fun hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to craft an evocative narrative that empowers fundraising activities and enables volunteers to form a deep connection to the cause while motivating them to become ultimate champions for the organization. You’ll build communication skills to advocate for your volunteer program to the greater community as well as internally to your own organization and those in leadership.
