2018-2019 Learning Year in Review

July 16, 2019

In the 2018-2019 academic year, Washington Nonprofits produced over 140 trainings, reaching nearly 9,000 nonprofit professionals across the state and online. We have even more planned for the 2019-2020 academic year. But first, here are some of the highlights of this past year:

  • We launched Next Level Nonprofit. Too often, busy nonprofit professionals attend a webinar or training and then go right back to work. It’s hard to follow-up on what you learned a week ago. That’s why we bundled our three core trainings (boards, finance, and nonprofit law) and created a wraparound booster program. Over 250 people have joined a Next Level Nonprofit cohort so far. Look for an opportunity to join a cohort this Fall!
  • We unveiled a new Advocacy toolkit and training. Drawing on Washington Nonprofits’ in-house expertise, we developed Build A Movement! – a free toolkit to help nonprofits advocate for their mission and build grassroots support for the issues that matter to them. If you weren’t able to join us in Olympia or Seattle this year, you can register now for the two-part online course in October!
  • We set a record in Yakima. In April we welcomed almost 300 nonprofit leaders from across the region to the Central Washington Conference for the Greater Good – the most in the five years since this conference began. With help from our partners, we were also able to offer a workshop in Spanish this year. Check out the Conference Impact Report to learn more!
  • We hosted some pretty big webinars. Through our partnerships with the Office of the Secretary of State and Wayfind Legal, we produced six free online legal trainings. With topics ranging from Nonprofit Bylaws to Social Media Legal Best Practices, these webinars turned out to be very popular. We had hundreds of people register, testing the limits of our webinar platform. The most popular training in the past academic year was How the State Regulates Nonprofits (323 people registered), due in large part to the awesome presenters.

What a year! We’re looking forward to 2020 – what will you learn this year?
